Bold Family Travel

Marriott Bonvoy's Bold Family Travel microsite was created as a hub of useful tips and resources for families looking to travel with children and teens. Early brand guidelines were translated into a robust site design. Custom illustrations were created to appeal to audiences of all ages, genders, and ethnicities. An avatar creation game, Vacavatar, helped users determine a vacation style and recommended Marriott properties for the whole family.

The Vacavatar experience enabled each family member to build their own avatar that most reflected their vacation style. Users could select from three age brackets, and choose from upwards of one hundred character components to build their avatar. These components dictated vacation qualities such as Action/Adventure, Relaxing, Cultural, Theme Parks, and City locations. Once each member made their entries, families were presented with the average vacation style for the whole family, a sharable "family portrait," and an emailable list of Marriott Bonvoy properties that were a good fit.
